VFW Posts in Oregon about the commissioning of the new submarine USS Oregon (SSN793). The ship/boat is being built at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton Ct. and should be commissioned in the summer/fall of 2021 at Groton Ct. The commissioning committee is a nonprofit through the Portland council of the US Navy league a 501(c)(3) organization. We are trying to raise funds to support the crew through the commissioning process. Many function, events and ceremonies are not funded by the Navy. I have attached a letter that explains who and what we are with updates from the ship/boat along with a picture of the future USS Oregon (SSN793).
