Level 2 Reporting: Providing Full Descriptions.

You do not need to repeat number of: members,  hours, miles, or money. Those are already captured in the numeric fields of the report. Only when the number itself explains the impact. So, in this example the 300 kids should be added in to the report description.

Note: The reporting system will identify any other category of double down report needed for you as long as you give a full discription of the activity with details.

Just report the main activity category and the following question answers in the description:

Who did the service?

What did you do?

When did it happen?

Where did it happen?

Why did you do it?

Who benefited from it?

How did it help the group or person you served?

Level 3 Reporting: Accounting for your 501(c)19 duties.

The IRS requires 501(c)(19) Veterans organizations to demonstrate:

    • community benefit
    • patriotic purpose
    • veteran support
    • educational intent
    • public safety involvement

Example When No Activity Done:

Post 3440 did no Youth Activities this quarter.

Why it matters: IRS and VFW require proof of activity or inactivity. Zero reports keep Posts compliant and in good standing.

How to report it: Primary category: "z” zero
