David Lee Welch

District 14 Commander

David L. Welch was elected District 14 Commander of the Oregon Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. in January, 2025, and reelected on 27 May, 2025

David served in the United States Army from 2003 to 2017, earning his VFW eligibility by serving in Afghanistan from 2006 to 2007, and from 2011 to 2012. In recognition of his service in a combat zone, he received the Combat Action Badge, the Joint Commendation Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal.

He joined the VFW in 2017 with New York "At Large" Post and once he moved to Stayton, Oregon in 2019, transferred to VFW Post 5638, where he maintains his Life membership in VFW today.
